Twenty One Pilots

This Columbus duo has been on the stage since 2009. This past year, they decided to have the best year ever for their career. This time, they put all the tokens on the table and joined the “Suicide Squad” by making the soundtrack of the film with the single “Heathens”, which reached number 2 on US charts.

The Chainsmokers

This is another duo made up of two DJs who joined their talents to form this musical project with indie, progressive house and pop music mixing. In April 2016, the duo released the single “Inside Out” featuring the Swedish singer Charlee, and in July the single “Closer” this time featuring Halsey.

This acapella group got a great spot at the end of the year by making a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”. This group has a 5-member line up with vocalists Kirstin Maldonado (mezzosoprano), Scott Hoying (baritone), Mitch Grassi (tenor), Avi Kaplan (bass). These guys from Arlington, Texas won a Grammy this year for “Best Instrumental Arrangement” for “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy”.

The British band once again is at the top with their new single “Hymn for the Weekend”, which was also one of the most watched videos of the year. “Viva la Vida”, indeed!

Maroon 5

They closed out the year with a fantastic gig in Seattle, WA and in Cleveland, OH with “The Ghost of Christmas Eve”. It was the end of a great 2016 for this big band from New York.

Florida Georgia Line

This country-pop music duo composed of Brian Kelley (Ormond Beach, Florida), and Tyler Hubbard (Monroe, Georgia) were the favorite for the American audience who loves this kind of country pop sound. The name of the band came from the states each member of the duo was born and raised in. The album “Dig Your Roots” included the hit single “H.O.L.Y” that jumped immediately from number 39 to number 1 on the charts of Hot Country Songs in April 2016, even though the album wasn’t released until months later, in August.
