Wow! January is almost over already. Where does the time go? As we close out this month, let’s take a look back at 2016 with the “Best Carpool Karaoke 2016 by James Corden”. Sure, it was a rough year, but I’m already feeling a bit nostalgic.
Best Carpool Karaoke 2016 by James Corden
James Corden is the host of
The Late Late Show, and although he has gained our attention, he definitely earned our heart when he included in his show the already famous
Carpool Karaoke.
In case you live under a rock, this part of his show consists of basically seeing Corden traveling around the city in a car in the company of the hottest celebrity of the moment. The best of all? You will never miss a good song to sing! The British comedian has broken records on YouTube visits on his channel, being one of the most watched sketches on internet.
Celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, and even First Lady Michelle Obama have sat next to him to sing their greatest hits (except Mrs. Obama, of course!), as well as their favorites songs of all time.
Here is some of the most popular Carpool Karaoke of 2016
Adele
The British star sat on the left (in England, the driver is on the right side of the car) to sing some of her famous songs, like
Rolling in the Deep and
Hello. They also talked about her new style. Corden admitted he loves it, by telling her that she has made a good change. They continued by singing songs like
Wannabe by the Spice Girls, and she also confesses that she has been “drunk for three days since Christmas”.
Justin Bieber
The Canadian singer has had 2 rounds of this segment with James. The second part of this edition, Bieber went shopping with his host and they also sang some classics such
Never Say Never and even some tracks from his last album “Purpose”, such as
Sorry and
What Do You Mean.
The tour included a stop in a store, and led to a discussion about Bieber’s tattoos, the pics about his private parts, and also to sing Alanis Morissette’s
Ironic.
Stevie Wonder
The legendary musician had one of the best Carpool Karaoke episodes ever! He sang some of his greatest hits like
Signed, Sent, Delivered, I’m Yours! And he even got the chance to call James’ wife and sing a version of
I Just Called to Say I Love You, which was one of the most exciting moments of the sketch that night.
Jennifer Lopez
Everything was perfect until Corden decided to take J. Lo’s phone and started to poke around in her contacts list. Demi Lovato, Bradley Cooper, The Rock, Cristiano Ronaldo, Fergie, Iggy Azalea, and Leonardo DiCaprio were some of the celebrities he found. The host decided to ask for some help, and he of course chose Leo, the last winner of the Academy Awards.
Mariah Carey
The Late Late Show invited the singer of
Without You to sing all her greatest hits, but the most exciting part was on December 16
th when he posted a video in which Carey asked for her song
All I want for Christmas is You to be sung by other artists that already sat in the passenger seat. In the video, there are features of Adele, Chris Martin from Coldplay, Elton John, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga, and Selena Gomez.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Flea (bass player) and Anthony Kiedis discussed with the host about the best way to get around L.A. The Peppers started to sing their hit
Can’t Stop, and then Flea made a duet with Corden by singing a piece from the Musical
Oliver!
The classic
Give It Away is another one that can’t be missed before Kiedis and Corden got out of the car and started a wrestling fight. Both ended up on the floor, but Corden is the one that surrendered after being knocked down.
