With an impressive illustration that appears from a comic book, rapper Raekwon arrives with a golden microphone in his hand, crushing everything wherever he goes. The image covers his new studio album, The Wild, his allegiance to Wu-Tang Clan appears semi-hidden in a building in the background. The New York singer, Raekwon a member of the gigantic collective Wu-Tang Clan, had tried with the album in a series of song premieres in previous days. The Wild features 16 tracks, which include Lil Wayne, CeeLo Green, G Eazy also P.U.R.E. This is his seventh solo album.
The album
In January, Raekwon, the MC member of the Wu-Tang Clan, announced the release of “The Wild,” a new album that will track “2015 Fly International Luxurious Art”. This material is already available through his own label ICEH20 and Empire Records.
Wu-Tang Clan
Raekwon joined Wu-Tang Clan in time to participate in Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers, the group’s successful debut album. Later, he signed solo with Loud Records. Working with Ghostface Killah, he recorded his solo debut Only Built 4 Cuban Linx (Which at the beginning was to be called Only Built 4 Cuban Linx … Niggaz).
The album had good reviews, despite having some poor sales. It is possibly the best solo work done by a Wu-Tang member (rivaling GZA’s Liquid Swords), partly thanks to Raekwon’s cinematic imagination. Raekwon participated in 1997 with the rest of the group in Wu-Tang Forever. Two years later recorded Immobilarity.
About 2 years after his last album “Fly International Luxurious Art” appears the new album of Raekwon of Wu-tang Clan. The album called “The Wild” appears on sale on March 24, 2017.
Raekwon Brief bio
His real name is Corey Woods. He was born in January 12th, 1970 in New York City, (USA). Raekwon may not have reached the same success that his other partners of the Wu-Tang Clan, Method Man, or OI´Dirty Bastard, but along with Genius/GZA and often fellow Ghostface Killah, he has recorded some of the most remarkable, inventive, well-criticized as well albums as solo artist. A.K.A “The Chef” (because he cooks up some marvelous “sh’t” to your mouth drooling) Raekwon get involved in the Staten Island, New York-based band Wu-Tang (36 chambers).
He notoriously provided the first verse of “C.R.E.A.M” The most important. Most recognizable song of the group, which has been gold-certified.
The group consists of nine MCs (after the death of Ol ‘Dirty Bastard in 2004, Cappadonna officially joined the group). Also all its members have released solo albums. The group has produced different groups and soloists. Finally this was the plan from the beginning of the group: to become an empire and take the hip-hop community with the saturation of good artists.
