The legendary shower scene of the film Psychosis is one of the most memorable in the history of movies and now Rihanna will be honored to play it on the TV series Bates Motel. The singer will emulate the legendary actress Janet Leigh, which in 1960 starred as Marion Crane, who stops at a roadside motel and end stabbed in the bathtub in the acclaimed suspense master piece of Alfred Hitchcock.

The announcement of the inclusion of RiRi, Carlton Cuse, Kerry Ehrin and Anthony Cipriano has occurred in the panel of the chain A&E at Comic Con in San Diego, California. The R&B diva, was not present, but sent a clip through the Twitter account of the series.

For Rihanna, this will be her first major work on television after having participated as an actress in some films like This Is the End and Battleship, joining Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore in the series. The character of Marion Crane, the artist of Work will take over the part from Janet Leigh, who was nominated for an Oscar and won a Golden Globe, has passed into history of celluloid for the moment in which she dies stabbed to death in the shower. Anne Heche also played this role in the remake of the classic horror movie in 1998.

The series will begin its filming in a few months in Vancouver, Canada. Bates Motel focuses on the previous history of Psychosis and tells how Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) becomes a psychopath and what fault is it on his mother, played by Vera Farmiga.

Rihanna, which currently is embarking on her summer tour “ANTI World Tour“, which last week ended up in Barcelona, has just released “Sledgehammer“, the song from the soundtrack of the movie Star Trek: Beyond.
